Christmas photo shoot celebrating the wonderful independent retailer that are setting up shop in Park Mall, Ashford. Including Made in Ashford, The Creative Collective Gallery, Glam-R-Us jewellery & Accessories, Emporia Fabric & Craft and the newly opened Happy & Glorious.
It is such a pleasure being part of the Park Mall regeneration here in Ashford. There is an amazing sense of community, all of the independent retailers know each other and are very supportive and the Park Mall staff are just brilliant and kind. This lead me to want to take some photos in celebration of this up and coming area of our town. So with a big thank you to the town Regeneration Manager, Jo for letting me use the Grotto (at incredibly short notice) as the perfect winter backdrop for all our products. Also a big Thank you to Casey for doing a photo shoot on her lunch break.
Such a lot is happening every week in Park Mall, a new shop or stall seem to be arriving on a very regular basis such as Happy & Glorious who have just moved in to their new shop near Wilkos (on Monday). Look at all of these beautiful gifts that are available in the shop.
A short time before Glam-R-Us Accessories moved in to the Kiosk outside of Wilkos. It is a tardis in there, filled with handbags, jewellery, scarves and other accessories. I took some pics of a selection of their range.
You may also recognise both Glam-R-Us and Happy and Glorious from Pop Up Ashford and of course me, Aye Aye who returned to Park Mall in October to open Made in Ashford. We are located opposite the side of Greggs next to what was EE. So of course I took lots of pics of the festive bits I have in store. (Also available in Whitefriars food & Craft, Canterbury and to order from my Facebook page or website).
Festive outfits (and a non compliant daughter who really didn’t want her photo taken in my Xmas pinafore dresses). Featuring Richardson and Richardson festive jewellery and knitwear by Lotte Jamieson Crafts.
Also from Made in Ashford the wonderful Mini Medley (for who my little monkey did sit still for a few minutes so I managed to get a couple more pictures). The adorable pixie hats are £12.50 (our collection of these is growing) and they are available in Made in Ashford.
The Creative Collective is a gallery next to Games Workshop by the escalators near Wilko. It has a particular support for young artists and young people with skills in anything can get involved as they run such a wide range of projects from film nights to a mad hatters tea partymad hatters tea party (on Saturday). They host such an amazing collection of art which is ever changing so it is always worth a visit and it is full of some very unique Xmas gifts. Perfect for the person who has everything. This colourful print from the Doodle Man, Sam Cox is £35.
We also have Emporia Fabric & Craft which has been a big part of many local handmade businesses having a platform to start and grow where they began at Emporia Craft & Vintage Markets. They relocated from Bank Street to the old Dorothy Perking Unit and now house a large range of handmade items where businesses can rent a space and sell their products. One of these businesses that has been with them from the beginning is my favourite jewellery designer Richardson & Richardson.
We had so much fun doing this especially when the naughty little elf appeared skipping and singing…
